Curriculum & Lesson Planning

During my practicum, I developed and implemented lesson plans for the NBE3U1 course, aligning all instruction with the Ontario Curriculum expectations. These lessons were designed to support critical literacy, student voice, and meaningful engagement with texts through structured and inquiry-based learning.

Selected Assignments & Lessons

For the NBE3U1 course the Virtual Novel Study Journal was used as an ongoing assessment tool to help students track their thinking, respond to prompts, and build their analysis throughout the novel. The quote analysis and short answer in-class assessment allowed students to demonstrate their understanding using structured approaches such as Speaker, Context, Significance and paragraph writing. The final RAFT culminating assignment, supported by a rubric, provided students with a creative and meaningful way to apply their learning and demonstrate their understanding of Indian Horse.
